Tom Curless

Also known as Your Gracious Host.

The brainchild of Tom Curless, Your Gracious Host has been steadily establishing itself as one of the most exciting power pop bands around... Curless is a man who knows how to write a pop song” -Stereo Embers

“Think Crosby Stills & Nash getting drunk with the Replacements. There are several surprises, very reminiscent of later-era Beatles. Great stuff.”--Detroit Metro Times

“His songs carry a tough, crunchy guitar wallop that evokes the Rasberries and Sloan, then adds perfect harmonies and songwriting variety...tuneful and hook packed.”
-Big Takeover

Tom Curless is a Detroit area based musician and songwriter who has released several critically acclaimed records over his long career. As well as establishing himself within the Chicago music scene in the early 2000's, he released seven records under the moniker Your Gracious Host. Tom finally found a band in 2017 which coalesced around the last record which he released under his own name called Songs of Movement. Made up of talented musicians from the Detroit music scene who all are established in their own bands, they christened themselves Tom Curless & the 46%. They gelled quickly and played many successful shows supporting that release all over the midwest.

This rocking unit headed into Tempoermill studios with producer Dave Feeny last year to record some new songs. They just wrapped a brand new album due out in spring 2020 called Almost ready for the Future which will be released (once again) on Detroit based label Futureman records. It is a full band effort and displays a more "live in the studio" approach than previous releases. The latest release is called "Person of Interest" released on Futureman records in January 2022. More of a solo effort than the previous LP, this one has Tom playing all the instruments himself.
